Adelaide Christmas Pageant

Adelaide Christmas Pageant
Whoo Hoo what a day.
Every year for 81 years Adelaide (Where I live) has had a Christmas pageant. It is the largest in the world of it's type. All the little children get up early and go and line the streets of the city.
On our streets we have a Blue honor line . A blue line is painted on both sides of the streets and the children are not allowed to go over it.
About 400,000 people come into the city to watch it.

Well I have to tell you I wasn't one of
them. Granny said she had done it for so many years with the Grand kids so we
didn't go. I watched every minute of it on the television.
Granny says I will bore you with too many photos, so I won't talk, you can just see the pictures.

There is 57 floats, Loads of bands and marching girls and dancers.
It is very big, but Granny is yelling out STOP Wilbur it is tooooo long.

Father Christmas has arrived and he goes into the magic cave so all the boys and girls can sit on his knee and whisper in his ear, what the would like for
Christmas.

Well I have my sign so Father Christmas will know to stop at my place.
I need to go to the magic cave to whisper in his ear.

What an exciting day. I am plum tuckered out.
Warm toast, honey and peanut butter will just go down well for supper.

See you all next week.

This picture is for all my darling followers. I see this tree right outside my window.
Jacaranda's say Christmas is coming.

My thought for the week:

you get a couple and learn how to handle them,
and pretty soon you have dozens."

Christmas is coming.

Parcels are arriving already.
Guess what guys, the postie left a parcel for me. It came all the way from America. I was so excited I  was jumping up and d own on the chair.
Granny soon told me off and said that on the parcel it says don't open until December.
How can I not open it??? What do all my friends think? Open it or wait?
I know Santa is watching to see if I am good so Perhaps, I should wait one more day at least.

Yesterday was "Bears and friends" day. the theme was bling. So lots of jewels.

Look at this pirate he has a trunk full.
This pin keep is full of jewels.
Today was our market day. When I got to the market very early, this little boy came running to meet me to give me a piggy back.
H... Hmmmmm!!!!! I was made to try on a dress to see if it would fit  some one...
Grrrrr.....
Granny liked this scarf. Why the ....... didn't she try it on.
Then there was Granny's Santa's and snow men. I was trying to make friends so I would be put in the good BOOK.
This Santa is very large. I sure want to be friends with him.
Wow, it has been a busy weekend, I just want to curl up with a Poo Bear book and have toast, honey and peanut butter for supper.

Welcome to all my lovely readers.
We love you visiting us.

Christmas Pudding Day.

 Christmas Pudding making time
 in Granny's house.

My Granny makes a very large Christmas pudding, because every one loves it except me.
She soaks the fruit in 1/2 a bottle of brandy for 3 weeks before we have the big making day.
Granny says the tradition is to make a wish when you stir the Christmas pudding.
Well!!! it was my job to stir, so I had lots of wishes. Like...( Will this pudding turn into a honey pudding. ) Because I had to stir all the time I saw what went in it. Butter, sugar, spice, lots of brandied fruit, a very little bit of flour and bread crumbs, and MONEY... Money instead of honey.
(WHERE IS THE HONEY)
There was no honey to be seen any where. Granny said I would like it. Well I tell you I think NO!!!

She put all the mixture into a big piece of calico and tied it up with a string.
"Question for you Granny, where is the cake tin or pudding tin????"

She tells me in our family we have been making this pudding for 4 generations, and you don't have a tin.

Well that pudding boiled for 7 hours and it was 35 deg. out side, so it made our kitchen very hot.

When Granny lifted it out the pot to hang up, she kept grunting because it was so heavy.
I think her muscles are slipping down to her hips.
Well it is all made and ready for Christmas dinner.

"Will you make a honey one for me Granny."
She says she will think about it.
That means yes...

At least I had toast with lashings of honey and peanut butter for supper.

See you next week.

The circus

Guess what??? I am a Puppeteer in a circus.

This is about Granny's Craft group display day
A long time ago, Granny started a craft group at the church. It grew like Topsy and when she left there was 350 people going to Craft on a Thursday morning.
Granny does not run it any more, but she still goes to chat mmmm!!!! and sew bears.
Her group made the Circus their theme this year. I thought you would love to see ME!!!! being a puppeteer. I also had my clown nose on and it was hard to breath.
In the tent we had the fortune teller. can you see her Chrystal ball?
Then we had the ringmaster and the elephant with clowns and camels and loads of funny bears.
Now this bear is a friend of mine and he was the ticket seller.
I must not forget the Ferris wheel. Lots of bears had rides in that.
This is a close up of the ring Master.
This funny clown had great shoes, I wouldn't mind those shoes myself.
Then we had lots of beautiful crafts that people had made.
Granny is yelling something out... Wait until I hear what she is saying.
"Wilbur don't forget to tell them that this is not all my work."
As if!!!!! I know you wouldn't think it was all Granny's work, She does get her knickers in a knot.

Granny feels very proud when she see's all this lovely work the ladies have done.

Phew!! my arms are aching after doing those puppets all day.
Yep... You got it. Warm milk, honey and peanut butter on toast, and I am one happy camper.

Welcome
I thought I would show you my crab apple tree that is bursting with blooms at the moment.

Welcome to Irma Vbi. We hope you have fun looking at all the things we do.
