A Week end at the sea.

We had a family Holiday Weekend.
At the beach.
I got a little sun burnt, so I wasn't in all the pictures because my hat was so big you could not see me.

The blue of our water is really that colour
Crystal clear beautiful water and sand.
These foot prints are of Granny's grand daughter's precious feet.
The railway line runs along the beach
so every one has a lovely view.

Here is Granny waving like the Queen mother , While she is standing on the balcony.
This is the view on the other side of the house. Sea one side and rolling hills the other. A perfect place to stay.

When we got home Granny was too tired and she wouldn't let me tell you about our holiday so it is a little bit late.
Although
we did have honey, peanut butter and toast for supper.
See you all next week when my sunburn is better.

I collected all these shells and star fish for you, aren't they pretty.

My thought for the week

"Life is'nt  a matter of milestones,
but moments."

A Reborn Doll, Teddy and Porcelain Doll show.

Last weekend we had a Teddy show, at the Fullerton Community Center.
Granny shared her table with another bear maker called Kay.These two Kay's always love having a stall together.
It gives them all day to chat and have fun. When one wants to have a look around the other Kay looks after all the bears.
And of course I get to see my favorite Australian Girl Bear Shirley. We had lot of time to talk as well. We really are very good friends. ( Now all you girls that don't live in Australia, DON'T GET JEALOUS)
These were some of the bears in the competition.
This bear won best in open.
This handsome little chap won best in Novice.
This very pretty bear won best bear in show.
Pretty pink bear got 2nd place.
These bears caught Granny's eye. They were in the competition as well.

Now we get to the dolls. This little monkey is in the dolls section
I think this baby is nearly asleep, I better go tippy toe, I don't want to wake her and have a crying match.

This is a stall of beautiful clothes for dolls.

It was a busy weekend with 2 days of the show.
I loved it because I had lots of time to talk to my friend; Shirley.
On the Sunday night I was tuckered out and went to bed with a full tummy of peanut butter and honey on toast, with a glass of warm milk.

Granny picked this rose for all her followers today.
The roses are all blooming in Australia at the moment.

My thought for the day.

"Until you spread your wings,
you will have no idea
how far you can fly."

Wilbur and the Story Book Trail.

A Visit to Carrick Hill's
Children's  story book trail.
We have a beautiful property in Adelaide that is opened to the public called Carrick Hill. The house is a lovely old mansion, but today I want to tell you, that Granny and I went on a story book trail.

We saw this huge frog that was spitting out water into the lake. There is a story written about Tiddalick, the largest frog in the world that held water.  I was sitting by his statue.
Then there was a boat that floats on the pond . It was Ratty's boat from Wind in the willows."I do want a ride in that boat Granny. "
Guess what we found next. "The Hobbit's House. I tried knocking on the door but no one was home. You could see their table and chairs and what they had for supper on the table. I loved this house.
There was even another window that I could peep in. I do hope that dragon is not around.

Horror of horrors, we went trit trotting over a bridge and I was scared out of my wits. It was the Three Billy Goats Gruff bridge with the troll under neath. I hopped back very quickly and ran... He wasn't having me for supper.

Hurray I found another WILBUR from the Charlotte's web story, can you see how big he is... I am a fairly big bear and Wilbur Pig looks a giant. He was looking at the web that Charlotte has spun. It was so strong I could climb it.

You might not be able to read this, but it is Miss Muffet's Tuffet, where she sat.
Above me is an enormous SPIDER, It was very scary. Granny didn't want to stay very long there because he might come down. It was in the trees and we couldn't get a photo of him.
These are the Gates from The Secret Garden, they were very big gates with very curly bits on them. It was just open enough for me to squeeze through.
We had to find the Key to the gates and guess what... da da... we found a very
h u g  e Key.

Now Granny and I thought this looked like the three little pigs house, but it wasn't.
We were not very sure who lived there. I thought it was just my size house.

"Help Granny!!!!! I am up the tree, I'm frightened of that lion."
He comes from the story 'The  lion the Witch and the Wardrobe."
Granny told me to, not be a wus and get down, he was only a statue.
Where is Wilbur?????
Can you see me. I am riding on a zebra from the story "The Jungle Book."
And this kind Elephant said I could have a ride on his trunk, because it was a long walk around this Story Book Trail.
We walked back up to the beautiful old mansion through this pear Arbour.
It was cool and shady.
I had to sit on the step at the top for a rest.
Arrrr.. So nice.... yum.... Walnut and honey tart for a snack afterwards on the terrace over looking the rose garden.
What a day, I'm fair tuckered out. We had such an exciting time. All the children of Adelaide should come up here and see this story book.

I'm falling asleep eating my toast, honey and peanut butter for supper.
I wonder what I will dream of tonight.

WELCOME
Welcome Elena Lavrova to my followers.
It is nice meeting new people.

My thought for the day.

"One hug is a perfect gift,
One size fits all
And nobody minds if you give it back."

Teddy Bears Picnic.

The Teddy Bears Picnic in the rain.
I had to be bandaged so I could tell all the bears that needed a doctor that they don't hurt a bit.(  Hmmm!!!! they did have big pin cushions and injections and a heart listening thing. ) Oh well they don't hurt much. It was my job to be in charge of the bandages. I dished out the tiny teddy biscuits to the teddy's that were patients, and to their owners. I liked that job, because every now and again I did the taste test.
Granny loves the teddy bears picnic at Urrbrae House. Some of her students come as doctors as well, and we have a Teddy Hospital. All the children bring there bears to have an ear sewn on, or a hole fixed up, or more stuffing if they are a bit skinny. Some need new eyes, Some have sore tummies, and some just need a medical check up.
We gave them an exray to see if they were sick in their tummies. with the lap top.

It was so wet it rained all day so the children could not have their picnic outside.
Dr. Vicki is on the veranda showing you how wet it was.
Here is some children with their special teddy bears having a picnic inside.

This is Goldie Locks. The children went down to the ballroom to play games and Goldie Lock wanted them to find the 3 bears.
All the ladies of the Manor dress in Period Costume and the doctors wore whits aprons.
This is some beautiful flowers on a very fancy mantle piece.
I know Granny showed you this old home last year. I told Granny some of her followers might not have seen it last year, so this is the gracious old home.
These are just some photo's of the lovely garden. You can't tell by these photos. The gardens are very big.

This is a view from the car park. You can see the city from on this hill

I can tell you I was a tired Wilbur by the end of the day, I went home and had toast, peanut butter and Honey, with warm milk and went to bed thinking of all those bears that Granny helped make better today.

See you all next week.

WELCOME
To all my readers. This is a rose from the garden today.

My thought for the week.
"I'm not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today."
