A Day at Goolwa.

The road to a friends house is never long.
Granny and I had a lovely day this week.

We had a very special friend staying from Sydney, and we went down to Goolwa , which is a town on the edge of a lake and the sea.

They had a wooden boat festival the week before and my friend had these wonderful boats in her house.

Out on their deck they had this very big Owl, who looked very wise. I think he was telling me something!!!!!!
I'm not sure what.

This is some fun pictures of the boat festival.
I hope you like the boat made out of wine barrels.
It was a few years ago that this one was sailed, but I thought you might like the picture.

I can just see myself sailing, and watching the pelicans as I went by.
I think I will dream about sailing all night tonight.

A lovely day spent with special friends.
Now supper of warm milk, toast, honey and peanut butter. aaahhh !!!
just what I need before bed.

See you all next week.

This picture is for all my lovely followers
We had a beautiful sunrise over Adelaide this morning.

My thought for the day.

"Don't cry because it is over,
smile because it happened."

  1. ...questa volta il commento in Italiano. ;) Che bella esperienza di nuovo il tuo Wilbur, belle le foto e grazie per la condivisione. Un forte abbraccio cara Kays. HUGS "AMICA"!!! Kisses. NI

  2. Hi Wilbur,

Bee-u-tee-ful photos, my favorite is the black & white oval of you - very artistic.

As you know, we had lots of snow here last week, but it has warmed up a bit - maybe more wintery weather coming in toward the end of the week. But....spring WILL arrive, maybe late, but it will come.

    Prudence ♥

  3. Dearest Kay,
Well, that for sure was a very special festival to go to!
Did notice on that wine barrel boat the sign: 'Wooden Boat Festival' so that's even more special if they are all made of wood only!
Enjoy your new month, you are winding down from the heat and we are starting spring.

  4. Dear grandmother Wilbourn you and you have a very adventurous life! The photos are very beautiful, I like the little boat made with the barrels! Have a happy week

  5. Dear Wilbur, I am so glad you and Granny visit so many ineterstinmg places and meet wonderful people:)

  7. What a beautiful place to take your friend ... I'm sure she would have enjoyed all the action on the lake and oh! what a wonderful sunrise .... so pleased Granny grabbed her camera and captured this stunning pic for us.

  8. Hi Wilbur, what a beautiful boats!!! hmmm.........the barrels.......any idea what they did with the wine????

The wise owl is lovely and yes, I think too that it wanted to tell you something!!! You never know what they are saying I believe but maybe that's why they are called WISE?!

Have a lovely weekend dear Wilbur! xxx Pink

  9. We're late due to our internet breakdown but not too late to see you and Granny had a lovely day off... Thanks for sharing - that barrel boat is impressive although we would prefer not to go on board... *teehee* What a pity that you don't speak Owlish, dear Wilbur... now we will never know what the wise owl tried to tell you... but who knows... maybe her advise was that you should have warm milk and honey toast? ;O)
