I was left behind.

OH, NO, I was left behind.
Granny was visiting aunty Belinda and she left me on the step. I wanted to cry; I was yelling out "Stop Granny Stop."
Aunty Belinda went to go in the door and saw me, she was so kind and took me inside and gave me a cookie.
Then she said I could snuggle up with her cat joey on the bed.
I was feeling a little sad,Joey told me this was a nice house to live in and he would be my friend.
Then I met a dog called Holly, who was so kind and shared his Tuna mornay dinner with me.
After tea, Aunty Belinda told me she would take me back to Granny's in the morning.
I had a lovely sleep over, and curled up with Joey the cat on the bed. (I did miss Granny a little bit.)
When morning came I hopped in the car and back to Granny's I went.
I told Granny I was very sad she left me behind, but good things happen out of bad situations some times.
I told her how I had met two new friends, Joey and Holly, and how they shared their food and cuddled up when I went to bed. Sometimes we worry about things, and everything turns out fine.
I told Granny I would try not to worry about being left behind again.
She told me she would NEVER leave me behind again.

I was given two pieces of toast with peanut butter and honey on for supper, and a glass of warm chocolate milk.

My thought for the day:
"A Grandmother is a little bit parent.
                                a little bit Teacher.
                               a little bit friend."

  1. Oh man, you really can't get the staff these days, can you?! Jack's already sitting on the pile of hand sewing projects to go to America, but he'd better not get left behind there!

  2. Oh Wilbur,

Left behind? Forgotten? Oh, for bears sake - really? Granny, the one who loves you to pieces, forgot you? Do you think she had one of those "senior moments" that grandparents talk about?

But, your Auntie took good care of you and you met Joey & Holly - and that is wonderful. Two new fur person friends - that makes me happy. You know, I do worry about you.

    Heaps of Hugs
    Prudence ♥

You will have to tell this story around the campfire next summer at Camp Good Bear.

Aún, cuando ha sido olvidado por la abuelita y se dedica a hacer buenos amigos.

Seguro que la abuelita, no vuelve a olvidarse.

  11. Hi Wilbur,
You have the best adventures, even when you're not planning them! New friends, new food to try, a warm bed to snuggle into, complete with cat - and then Granny to come home to, with extra supper and lots of hugs. Are you sure you didn't plan this?
Big hugs from all the critters and Kayzy :0)

Your Granny is teaching you many important life lessons. You made two new friends. Friends are blessings you know.If you came to our house I know our four furries would love you to pieces.
PIECES! Uh oh, that might not be such a good thing.

  14. Now I'm even more anxious - I go away a lot and there's lots of opportunity for me to be left behind. Just yesterday in Bonn, he was in his hotel chatting away to another man and packing his case. I wasn't being packed though, and I could just see him leaving me on the desk. Phew, he didn't, but I think it was close. Maybe it was me jumping up and down and waving my paws that did it.

I liked the happy ending and all the friends you made at your auntie's though.

    Hugs,

    Jock
