Saturday in the Kitchen

SATURDAY IN THE KITCHEN

Granny was busy making a Jaffa cake for tomorrow.
She is showing a few girls how to make Steam punk jewellery with polymer clay.
They need something nice for morning tea, so it was cake baking time in our house.
First we had to boil 4 oranges for 2 1/2 hours.
Wow, that looks a sticky mess for me. I did tell Granny I would help. Well.... what do you do for 2 1/2 hours. I had to find something to do or I would go potty.
I looked in the cupboard and found a cake tin. Granny had the beaters out ready to mix the cake when those darn oranges are cooked.
SO
It is only natural, that a talented music bear Like I am, plays the drums with the beaters.

May be I can try the dough hooks, they do make a different sound. I think it is the curly bits.
Hu hummmm..... look what I found. Something to go in the cake. Granny won't miss just a little bit. I need to keep my energy up.
Now I feel like a bit more playing. Yes the trumpet. I'm good at the trumpet, just like Granny's Grandies.
Do you know what this is.........?????? Its the Juice spout, whistle. Not too bad. If you have a funnel hat it makes an even better sound.
Granny is yelling that she has a head ache with all the noise." Excuse me!!!!.... Noise.... It is high tec music..!!!!!!"
Oh well.... I will show you my case, that I am going to pack one day, for my Summer Camp . It really is quite pretty, with Bananas in Pyjamas on the lid.
I have been studying the calendar and we have 5 weeks and 5 days left before I'm sun baking and playing with my friends.  Well you must agree that it will be better than watching Oranges boil for 2 1/2 hours.
This is a picture on my calendar of a Sturt Dessert Pea. We have them growing wild in the out back of Australia.
This pretty flower is of a Hakea. Which is a small tree and has beautiful flowers

Well enough music practise and wishing camp would come soon. I'm going to get my plate and find some honey and peanut butter myself. Granny seems too busy to get my supper tonight.

See you all real soon,
Hugs Wilbur.

  2. Hello Kay, hello Wilbur,

thank you for welcoming us - we joined your beautiful blog yesterday but there was something wrong... After joining we received an "Error" instead of the "Done"-Button. So we decided to try it again next day, but to our surprise Blogger already joined us to your list. We were curious about you because we've seen a lot of nice comments from you on blogs we love - and we wanted to have a look who you are. And we're glad we did! You're a very talented bear, Wilbur, playing all these instruments... ;O) Now we'd like to see the finished Jaffa cake...

    Greetings from Germany

  3. Hi Wilbur,

Wow, you sure can amuse yourself, you're like a one-bear band. Granny should be so happy to have music while she bakes.

Gee, it's gonna be so much fun playing with you at camp. I like your banana jammies suitcase. Will you fit everything in that one case?

    Heaps of Hugs ♥

  6. Hi Wilbur,
We didn't know you were so musical. Maybe you can play for us at camp. Your house must have smelled wonderful from having those oranges scenting the air. We love the smell of oranges almost as much as we love chocolate or peanut butter and honey on toast. Your new banana jammies case is great. We have so much stuff to pack for camp we might have to bring several cases. See you in five weeks and four days.
    Hugs,
    Bellamine & Wendy

  7. Hi Wilbur,
Looks like you had a fun time in the kitchen! Where is the camp you are going to??

I really want to see Granny's steampunk jewellery!

    Have a great week!

  8. Hi Wilbur,

I bet that cake turned out yummy. If our mama had been at your house she probably would have drank some of that boiled orange stuff. If you give mama one orange she doesn't quit and before you know it she has had way too many.

Maybe you can play the drums for us at camp. We have to get busy and get our suitcases and start packing. Your case is neat Wilbur.

    See you soon

  10. Well isn't that interesting! I've only ever seen Jaffa cake on the store shelf. Didn't occur to me that you would make your own. I bet I'd love the homemade version. Hope you've had a lovely weekend.

  11. Hiya Wilbur:-)

We finally made it here to visit, Mama Pea had us going shopping for plants/flowers, helping her plant them and cleaning up around the house so we didn't get a chance to visit until now! We're hiding in the closet with her laptop so that she doesn't find us and put us to work again!!!!

We just LOVE all your musical instruments and the nerve of Granny calling it NOISE! We just know that you sounded brilliant. We giggled at your funnel hat! hehe We do hope you got to eat some of that cake once it was ready!!

We need to go shopping for luggage to pack all our clothes for camp. Your case is so awesome. We're counting down the days as well!

Uh oh, we hear Mama Pea calling us, let's hope it's to give us a snack and not put us to work! Big beary hugs, Misty & Tiffany xoxoxo

  14. Sheesh, we say buy a packet of jaffa cakes and spend more time having fun! LT says that case is an antique, it's probably worth a fortune... Maybe you can get us all tickets out of here if you trade it in?

  15. Hi Wilbur! Abby, here! :)
I was just saying that we don't get to play in the kitchen. We get chased out and told to STAY out every single time. NOT fair, and you get to play with all those neat things! *stomps off*
