Roses, Roses every where.
If you live in South Australia, you would know how beautiful the roses are this year.
Granny brings them inside, de-prickels them and puts them in a vase, then a few days latter she chucks them out. I don't.... don't... understand her at all.
If she wants to smell the roses why doesn't she go outside, because there is plenty of perfume out there.
Now I bet two bob, that you think this rose is a painting... Nup...
Granny went to the rose show and took some photos.
These are not in our garden
Some one!!! we don't know who!!!! must have very soar fingers de-prickeling all of these roses
Now this is our famous Sydney Harbor Bridge with the opera house in the forground (Well it is make out.) Just in case you think a sheet is water??
Granny wants this rose in her garden.. Well first question... Does it have prickles.
I am sick to death of prickles.. Every time I chase a ball it goes under the rose bush. My beautiful fur gets all tangled. and guess what????
Bears have blood too.
I have been all day chasing the earwigs off the roses. They get inside the flowers and have a chew.
Oh well I need to come inside and get de tangles and de scratched.
I have the sneezes from all the pollen.
A working bear needs supper served up to him.
Toast with honey and peanut butter.
Plus a big mug of warm chocolate milk.
I will see you all next week when I have stopped sneezing.
Granny picked this rose from her garden for all her family of followers.
My thought for the week.
"If you enjoy the fragrance of a rose,
you must accept the thorns which it bears"
All of the arrangements were..just beautiful..now who was it you said deprickled the roses? Uh huh, well. I'm just thinking you should have helped. I bet you did but you just didn't want to say. Your Granny is the most special woman!! She does something not a lot of people can do...and that is create gorgeous AND smart bears like you.
ReplyDeleteA very special and generous woman created me too..and we are thankful!
It's the middle of the night here and I should be sleeping.. :)
Hugs and honey!!
Abby
Yes, a hard working bear like you deserves a lot of honey on his supper toast... ;O) Thanks for the wonderful pictures, this brings back some lovely memories of our summer... But dear Wilbur, maybe you should read that lovely thought for the week once more??? *smile*

Hi Wilbur,
ReplyDeleteBee-u-tee-ful. About those stickers - Granny is very smart and she probability wears garden gloves and uses clippers. Be careful of your paws - those thorns are nasty.
Hugs
Prudence ♥
Was für schöne Fotos!! Rosern gibt es leider nicht ohjne Dornen, da muß man sehr vorsichtig mit umgehen lieber Wilbur.

Hello Wilbur,
ReplyDeleteI hope your sneezes go away soon. The roses are beautiful and worth the sneeze for the beauty they bring :-)
Have a great week,
Lisa
Oh dear Wilbur, roses sound very bad for your health indeed! We'd stick to just eating honey in future...

Josephine
So much beautiful roses, I love roses too, and they smell sooooo good! You deserved your supper after the work in the garden Wilbur! Chasing earwigs away from the roses is very important work! :-D
ReplyDeleteDearest Kay,
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have such an abundance of great blooming roses in your region. What a show that must have been. For sure they do far better there than here in central Georgia with poor red soil and no water-holding capacity. We lost so many but I did find back a favorite fragrant cream-white rose Jardins de Bagatell and they reserved 9 for us to be shipped in January. Trying my luck one more time and see if we can keep some alive!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
Adoro le rose! Anche nel mio giardino ce ne sono molte. Ti diverti molto in giardino, vero? Mi piacerebbe farti conoscere i miei orsetti, magari fate amicizia! Se vuoi vedereli sono qui : http://cicciorsi.blogspot.it/
