My Queensland Adventure.
This is a little private beach that very few people know about. It was so pretty with the Palm trees on the beach, BUT... just around the corner is where the river goes into the sea.. Do you know what lives in the River?????? I am nearly too frightened to tell you. Not the Dragon!!!!
Something large and snappy... Crocodiles.
This is the mangroves where they sometimes come out of the river. I can tell you I was looking around every few seconds, just encase a Croc smelt me for lunch.
We saw this boat that had been left in the river for awhile.
In the Proserpine River there are about 150 crocodiles. We were going out in a boat to see them but it came up too windy. Few!!!! that was lucky.
Just look down that huge throat.
Look at that slippery mud.. oh I wouldn't like to get too close.
There are big Blue crabs that are delicious to eat.
Then in the morning we woke up to the Kookaburra laughing.
This is Shute Harbour where the tourist Ferry's go out to the islands.
You can see it was a bit windy.
I was kidnapped and taken down to the Hotel. These Queenslander's corrupted me and gave me my first drink. Granny was horrified when I told her. She said that bears are not meant to drink beer, just warm chocolate or honey milk.
On Sunday night we went down to a little bush church, it is so pretty.
We watched the Sun set sitting on the car boot.
The end to a beautiful weekend
Good bye Family and good bye Queensland. We had the best time.
I keep dreaming of warm weather, family, and sunshine, I don't want to dream about croc's.
Arrrr... Warm milk, toast and peanut paste and honey for supper.
I will see you all next week to tell you about what happened at our market today.
You will be surprised.
Hugs Wilbur.
WELCOME
Welcome to Carol. I hope you enjoy Wilbur and the bears I make.
My thought for the day.
Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others.

Well that looks a fun holiday, except for the crocodiles - we hope you didn't smile at any, that's always a dangerous plan...

WILBUR, BE CAREFUL. Whew, so glad you stayed clear of those crocs.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that was a pirate ship? Do you think they were on the island? What an exciting adventure. Did that beer make you silly and dizzy?

Oh boy, we're still shivering... You're a brave bear, Wilbur, getting so close to the Crocs but you're even smarter than brave so it was very clever to take care not to get too close to them. Flutterby is used to dragons because there are so many of them living in our witch tower but he would never trust a crocodile! What a lovely trip you and Granny had and we bet you deserved your toast and warm milk - or are you prefering beer now? ;O)

Das scheint ja ein schöner Urlaub gewesen zu sein. Gut das ihr nicht zu nahe an die Krokodile gekomen seid.

Hi Wilbur,
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting adventure! We've never been to where there are crocs and don't plan on ever doing so either! Never ever in a million years!
We've heard of Kookaburras because of a song about them but didn't know what they were until now.
How did you get kidnapped and how did your kidnappers make you drink beer? Did they hold your nose and make you swallow? What did beer taste like? We've had rootbeer and liked it a lot but we think what you had was the grown up kind that tastes yucky.
Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Hugs,
Bellamine & Wendy
Wilbur you are making my peach fur turn gray. First I have to worry about you being trapped in the compost bin, now I am worrying about you being lunch for a hungry crocodile! Did you like the taste of beer? Mama SAID IT'S A TERRIBLE TASTE!!!

Scary crocodiles! Makes me think of Peter Pan and the Crocodile that swallowed an alarm clock and tick tocked wherever he went. Brrr! It looks like a lovely place to visit.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you didn't get gobbled up by one of those crocs Wilbur .... lots of lovely memories to dream upon ..... Like pretty golden sunsets.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely NOTHING happened here..at least not for me! BIG graduation dinner but..not for me. I had to stay in the livingroom with those DOLLS! And you know how those dolls and I get along! I am glad you had a great time though!
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say, I am feeling a WEE neglected!
Big hugs,
Abby
Oh what a wonderful holiday!! I'm so glad you weren't lunch for a croc!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kay and Wilbur,
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful holiday you had and loved seeing your photographs.
The crocodiles are scary and know when I was up in Palm Cove was always on the look out in case some had ventured near where we were.
There were signs around saying to look out for the crocs and jelly fish.
Hope you have a lovely week
hugs
Carolyn
Oh Wilbur - you and Granny did have a wonderful time, even if it was a bit scary with those crocs nearby. Friends of ours who live a little further north sent me a photo they'd taken when walking along their beach - yes, you guessed it - crocodile tracks! Needless to say they didn't wait around to look for the real thing!
